Several organizations, individuals donate for fight against COVID-19

JAMMU, Apr 10: Ircon International Limited (IRCON) provided an additional financial assistance of Rs 15.5 crore to PM CARES Fund for fighting against COVID-19. This amount is in addition to Rs 5 crore assistance announced earlier. Company’s total contribution to PM-CARES Fund now amounts to Rs 20.5 crore, including contribution of Rs 51 lakh by the employees.
Sant Nirankari Mission contributed Rupees five crore in the PM CARES Fund. The Mission has also offered to make available its satsang bhawans as quarantine centres, in case of need by state or central governments.
With the support from all sections of society including all former BJP MLAs, MLCs, BJP J&K office bearers, district presidents & office Bearers, Mandal presidents & office bearers, Government employees of Jammu region, businesspersons and common citizens, the J&K unit of BJP donated Rs 1 crore in the PM CARES Fund. BJP J&K president Ravinder Raina and former Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta along with other senior party leaders handed over 90 bank cheques to the Manager, State Bank of India at Trikuta Nagar Branch, Jammu.
The J&K unit of Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (CGPWA) donated Rs 3.11 lakh into J&K Relief Fund. The amount was raised through individual contributions of as many as 58 Central Government pensioners. The Association also contributed out of its own account a sum of Rs 5100.
Judical officers and employees posted in Udhampur district today contributed Rs 2,55,748 to newly created welfare fund by Chief Justice J&K High Court for those affected from Coronavirus. As per direction of High Court, District Judges contributed Rs 15,000 each while Sub Judges contributed Rs 10,000 each and all Munsiff Judges contributed Rs 7500 each. All the Gazetted officers posted in district court’s contributed Rs 5000 each while all Non-gazetted staff posted in Subordinate Courts contributed one day’s gross salary.
President, Shree Data Ranpat Dev Ji Maharaj Sadotra Parivar, Sohan Lal Sharma along with members HL Dogra, Prem Nath Sadotra, Rajesh Sadotra, Rakesh Sharma donated Rs 1.51 lakh in PM CARES Fund in the shape of cheque which was delivered to Jugal Kishore Sharma (MP Lok Sabha) in presence of district president RS Pura HS Pammy and Akash Chopra.
Vikram Singh Slathia, president Udhampur Hotel, Bar & Restaurant Association accompanied by general secretary Sanjeev Sharma handed over a cheque amounting to Rs 1.01 lakh as a monetary assistance to the District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla towards District Relief Fund.
Nidhi Mangotra, Councilor of Ward number 17 donated a sum of Rs 21000 towards PM-CARES Fund in shape of cheque which was handed over to Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta and Deputy Mayor Advocate Purnima Sharma.
Students of Rajouri district including Riya Sharma (BAMS student), Rushali Sharma (Law student) and Radeshwar Sharma (Class 10th student) today contributed an amount of Rs 11000 out of their personal savings in District Disaster Management Fund.
Des Raj, secretary of Maharaja Rasila Ashram located in Sarore area of the district donated Rs 5 lakh in PM CARES Fund. He handed over the check to local Sarpanch Vinod Charak in the presence of Ashram president, B L Bhagat.
Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) of Jammu contributed one day’s salary of its employees amounting to Rs 18.34 lakh towards J&K Relief Fund.
The J&K Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association Kathua led by its chairman Capt Gian Singh Pathania donated Rs 1.01 lakh in PM CARES Fund. The members of Association handed over the cheque to Deputy Commissioner Kathua OP Bhagat.
