SFA conducts selection trials at Kargil under Mission-22

KARGIL, Mar 24: State Football Academy (SFA) of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC) conducted two-day selection trials in district Kargil under Mission-22 to select players for the district unit of SFA.
The trials were conducted under the supervision of NIS certificate coach Mohammad Yousuf, SFA Coach, Stanzik Tsepak, and Physical Education Teacher Government School, Mohammad Ali. The trials were coordinated by Boxing Coach of Kargil, Mustafa Ali.
95 participants of various areas of the district took part in trials out of which 80 footballers under three age categories 13, 15, and 18 respectively were selected on various parameters.
The selection penal said that there was good response from the participants of adjacent areas of the district.
“The response from participants was overwhelming but the locals have shown less interest in football as they are more associated with cricket and other games,” they said.
They further said that with the launch of SFA unit in the district the youth will indulge in playing football as well.
Moreover, the locals and parents who were accompanying their wards said that they are hopeful that SFA will mark their foot in this district as well.
