JAMMU, Jan 30: Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public (SGGSP) Higher Secondary School celebrated Annual Sports Day with zeal and zest in the School Auditorium, here. The programme began with lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest, Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, former MLC while CS Toor, Director IK Bani Channel was the guest of honour.
Chairman Guru Nanak College of Education, Prof Harbans Singh was also present on the occasion.
The dignitaries and guests were welcomed by beating of the drums and playing flute music by the students of the school.
Administrator of the school, Charanjeet Kour welcomed the dignitaries on the occasion, while Gurtaj Singh, Principal of the school highlighted the achievements of the school in different fields during the current session.
On this occasion students presented cultural programme and the first item was Vandana by the students of class 10th followed by 100 m race by senior students of the school.
Junior wing of the school presented sack race, lemon spoon race and blow balloon race.
Finally Prize Distribution ceremony was held to honour and encourage the students for various competitions.
The prizes were presented to the students by the chief guest.
Vote of thanks was presented by Gagandeep Kour, which was followed by refreshment.
