RAJOURI, Apr 30: Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan, during his tour to border areas of block Manjakote, inspected several ongoing projects and instructed executing agencies for time bound completion of these works.
The Minister during his visit to border villages Mangalnar, Bareri and Badrate inspected the pace of progress on 3 Water Supply Schemes, coming up at a cumulative cost of Rs 4.66 crore.
The Minister was apprised that till date Rs 3.69 crore have been expended on the execution of these WSS which are expected to be commissioned within two months. He was also informed that these schemes after completion would provide drinking water facility to 1,000 souls of the area.
Responding to complaint of locals that substandard material was used in execution of Water Supply Scheme Mangalnar, the Minister ordered Executive Engineer PHE, Rajouri to investigate and examine the matter and submit the factual report to the Government within week’s time.
The Minister asked the sectoral officers to ensure use of quality material in execution of projects and conduct frequent visits to the project sites especially in remote and border areas. He said any lapse, in this regard, would not be tolerated.
The Minister also addressed public meetings at border villages Mangalnar and Bareri and assured the people that all their genuine demands and developmental needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner. He said upgradation of basic facilities especially in hilly and border areas is priority of the Government.
