JAMMU, Mar 22: Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan convened a meeting to review the functioning of the State Health Transport organization here today.
Commissioner Secretary Health & Medical Education M. K. Dwivedi, Secretary Transport Department Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo, Director Health Jammu Madhu Khullar, and senior officers of the concerned departments attended the meeting.
The Minister was apprised with the steps taken for improving the functioning of SHTO and other issues pertaining to availability of ambulances, registration of new ambulances and action taken for disposal of condemnable vehicles.
The Minister stressed on interdepartmental coordination for streamlining the process of registration of the ambulances and ensure that health services are not affected. He also directed the concerned departments to adopt standard procedures in purchase of new ambulances in consultation with the experts of National Ambulance Code and ensure quality pre-inter-hospital transfer of patients.
