JAMMU, Oct 8: Syed Shahaan netted splendid four goals with a hat-trick as Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) thrashed Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor by seven goals to nil (7-0) in the Inter-Collegiate Football Tournament, being organized by the University of Jammu, which got underway at University ground, here today.
The first goal was scored by Viven Pal Singh early in the 2nd minute of the match, which was followed by the second goal scored by Syed Shahaan in 5th minute. The 3rd goal was scored by Shahil Rafir in 9th minute, which was followed by the 4th goal scored by Tanvir Shafi in 15th minute.
The 5th, 6th and 7th goal was scored by Syed Shahaan, who scored 4 splendid goals in the match.
Meanwhile, in other matches played today, MIET got walkover against GDC Poonch, MBS trounced GDC Kathua by (2-1).Gagan Sambyal scored both the goals for winners, while Sunny netted the goal for GDC Kathua.
In another match GCET drubbed GDC Paloura by four goals to nil (4-0), while in the last match of the day, SVNS Kathua outplayed Trikuta College by six goals to nil (6-2) in an easy contest.
Prof Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare , University of Jammu was the chief guest on the inaugural while Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director Directorate of Sports and Physical Education was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ramesh Sharma PTI Campus , Naryani Jamwal Physical Director, Jai Bharat , Raj Kumar and Dr Brij Baloria.
The matches were officiated by Gagan Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Pardeep Kotoch, Vijay Kumar and Harman Jeet Singh.
