POONCH, July 3: Organised in the memory of Liyaqat Ali of 12-JAKLI, who has sacrificed his life while fighting rivals on June 9, 1999, got underway, here today.
The Tournament was inaugurated by Additional SP Mendhar, Yougal Manhas in an impressive and well attended function, while SDPO Mendhar, Amir Bashir, Zafarullah Azad and chief organizer Pappu Girdhawar were present on the occasion.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of retired SP Abdul Razaq Khan.
Earlier, in the inaugural volleyball match, Mendhar Police Warriors defeated Shaheed Liyaqat Ali Volleyball Club by (2-0) sets, while in kabaddi, Sudan Club scripted a big win by 25 points in the inaugural tie.
