POONCH, June 12: Shaheed Major Rohit Sharma Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament Poonch District was organized by the Army at Degree College Ground from June 1 to June 12, 2017, here.
The mega sporting event culminated today with an exciting final match played between Khalsa Cricket Club, Poonch and Mandi Cricket Club at Poonch. The Under-19 event received an overwhelming response and a total of sixteen teams of Poonch District participated.
In the exciting final match played today, Khalsa Cricket Club after winning the toss elected to bat and scored 106 runs.
In reply, Mandi Cricket Club bundled out for 100 runs in14.2 overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of6 runs.
Nadeem Khan was the chief architect of victory for Khalsa Cricket Club.
The finals match was witnessed by Army officials, civil officials and large number of locals of all age groups. The villagers especially the youth turned up in large numbers to witness the match.
The Army officials present applauded the youth for their efforts and sportsman spirit and encouraged them to make the best use of such a platform to display their sporting talent.
