Shaheed Manjeet Club lifts volleyball title

JAMMU, Apr 28: Thrashing Core Madras Volleyball Club convincingly by (3-0) sets in the summit clash, Shaheed Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club, Poonch, lifted the title trophy of the Late Karan Singh Memorial Volleyball Tournament, organized by the Muthi Volleyball Club at Higher Secondary School Muthi, here today.
ADGP Dilbag Singh, MD Police Housing was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
Earlier, Shaheed Manjeet Singh Memorial Club drubbed Core Madras in a one-sided contest by (25-22, 25-21, 25-22). The winning team spikers displayed superb smashing and lifting skills and dominated the game from the word go.
The match was officiated by a panel of experts including Amarjeet Singh, Rajesh Virdhi, Sangeeta Bhat, Manisha Kumari and Priya Charak.
Speaking on the occasion, Dilbag Singh stressed upon the youth to join sports and shun drugs as sports and games play a pivotal role in helping people not to derail from the main stream.
He lauded the efforts of the office bearers of Shaheed Manjeet Singh Club for consistent good performance of the Club.
