KARGIL, Nov 3: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan attended the final cricket match of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali T-20 Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament, organized by District Police at Khree Sultan Choo Stadium Biamathang, here today.
Executive Councillor (EC) Works, Mubarak Shah Naqvi, EE for RDD, Tourism and Zanskar Affairs, Panchuk Tashi, EC for Health, Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner, Santosh Sukhadeve, SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Chowdhury and others were present on the occasion.
The CEC paid rich tribute to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali. He congratulated and thanked District Police for organizing the tournament in a unique way. Khan praised the winner and runner-up teams for taking part in the tournament and encouraged the players.
DC Kargil also encouraged the players of both teams. He congratulated the Police for organizing such events. He also praised the crowd for their participation in the match.
In the two-week-long tournament, 36 teams from different areas of all subdivisions of Kargil participated. In the final match, Dardic Legends Shimsha (DLS) defeated Friends Club Drass (FCD) by four runs. DLS won the toss and set a target of 189 for the opposite team in 20 overs which could not be chased by the FCD and lost the match.
In the end, the dignitaries distributed prizes among the players and the teams. The winning team was given a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a trophy while the runner-up team received Rs 50,000 cash prize and a trophy.
Man of the series was Lone Mehboob from FCD was given Rs 2000 as cash prize, while the player of the match was Ibrahim Lodhi and was awarded with Rs 3000 as prize.
In the end, SSP Anayat Ali Chowdhury presented a vote of thanks.
