Shaheen FC, Vijay Club register wins in 26th State Football C’ship

JAMMU, Apr 5: Shaheen Football Club and Vijay Club defeated their rivals convincingly in the ongoing 26th State Football Championship, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science Hostel ground, here today.
In the first match, Shaheen FC defeated Sports Saviours by eight goals to seven (8-7) in a close contest via tie-breaker.
Earlier, in the stipulated time, the match ended in a goalless draw.
In another match, Vijay Club defeated DFA Reasi by four goals to one (4-1). From Vijay Club, the first gaol was scored by Dewan in 28th minute of the match, while the 2nd goal was netted by Nawong in 52nd minute. The 3rd goal from Vijay Club was scored by Sandeep in 56th minute, while the 4th goal was pelted by Parveen by 66th minute.
The lone goal from Reasi was scored by Barmanyu in 58th minute.
The matches were officiated by Vijay Kumar, Rockey Kumar, Ajay Singh and Rocky Sharma.
Today’s matches among others were witnessed by Sheikh Mehmood, President DFA Jammu; Kuldeep Singh, Vice President JKFA; Fayaz Shafi, President DFA Srinagar; Shafi Nari, International Player; Vipan Gupta, Sr Football Player of JK Bank; Ranjeet Singh, International Player and Amandeep Singh, international Player.
