JAMMU, Dec 31: Shaheen Sports Jammu and District Football Association (DFA) Baramulla registered emphatic victories over their rivals in the 23rd State Football Championship, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at Mini Stadium Parade ground, here.
Earlier, DFA Baramulla defeated Jammu Sports by two goals to nil (2-0) in the first match played today. Though, the players of both the teams made lot of moves to score goals, yet it was only DFA Baramulla which succeeded in scoring the same.
In another match, Shaheen Sports Jammu thrashed DFA Rajouri by nine goals to nil (9-0) in a one-sided contest. The first half ended with (7-0) in favour of Shaheen Sports Jammu. For the winners Aniket and Davian displayed superb soccer skills to score 4 and 3 goals respectively.
In the third match, Param Sports defeated Jammu United by two goals to nil (2-0).
The matches were officiated by Hilal Ahmed Punjabi, Mohd Shafi, Javed Ahmed and Moon Stephen.
Meanwhile, at GGM Science College Football ground, DFA Anantnag defeated J&K SRTC by (2-0), Ganderbal got better of DFA Ramban by a solitary goal, while DFA Srinagar prevailed over Young Star Jammu by (5-0) and Lone Star FC Srinagar thrashed Kupwara by (10-0).
