POONCH, Aug 4: JKPCC General Secretary and DDC Member from Surankote constituency Shahnawaz Choudhary led indefinite strike at Surankote against LG adminstration enters second day at Surankote.
Sarpanches, Panches and locals affected by flash floods are also sitting with him and they are demanding compensation from adminstration through SDRF by declaring recent flash floods in district Poonch as a disaster. They were holding placards while raising slogans in favour of their demands. The protest site became witness of many locals emotional outburst while narrating their sufferings.
On first day of indefinite strike. ADC Poonch along with other officials visited protest site and tried to pacify protestors but talks failed.
Shahnawaz Chowdhary while speaking on the ocassion assured locals that he will leave no stone unturned to raise voice in their favour.
He warned adminstration to accept genuine demands of compensation through SDRF and waiving off farm loans otherwise he will be forced to start mass protest in favour of their demands.
