CHANDIGARH, Nov 29: Accountant General Jammu and Kashmir wrested title from defending champions AG Haryana by eking out a narrow 1-0 win in the final of the three-day North Zone Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA&AD) Football Tournament at the Sector 17 Football Stadium here today.
AG J&K players dominated the game from outset through short passes and their efforts bore fruits in 32nd minute when Shahnawaz dodged a couple of defenders of Haryana and kicked the ball into net from 30 yards to score the all-important goal.
The AG Haryana players tried their best to equalize the lead but all their efforts went in vain. AG Jammu and Kashmir won the match by 1-0 and clinch the trophy.
Mr Ashwani Attri, Director General, Central Revenue gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up teams.
