RAJOURI, Aug 31: Shakeel Ahmed Mir, senior Congress leader and president, Municipal Committee Thanna Mandi has been conferred with the prestigious Bharat Jyoti Award ( Glory of India Award) by India International Friendship Society in a function organized at India International Centre New Delhi.
The award was given by Lt Gen KM Seth, former Governor of Tripura and Chattishgarh and Dr Surya Narayan Patro, Ex- Minister Odisha Govt and Speaker Odisha Vidhan Sabha where Sudam Mandi Revenue and Disaster Management Minister of Odisha Govt and Bhima Bharti, Cabinet Minister of Bihar Govt were also present.
Mir was awarded for his Socio- political work he has been doing for the last more than three decades. Various awardees from different states of India were shortlisted for this year award in a seminar on `Economic Growth and National Integration’.
