Sham for revisiting present education system to promote moral ethics

JAMMU, Dec 5: Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib celebrated its 7th Annual Day at General  Zorawar Singh Auditorium of Jammu University here today with lot of enthusiasm and fanfare.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma was chief guest and Director School Education, Tushar Kanti Sharma was guest of honour on the occasion.
The students presented scintillating cultural bonanza on the themes of national integration, unity in diversity and communal harmony which mesmerized the jam packed hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister stressed the need for providing quality education to the students as per the modern trends so that the students after completing their studies can compete in different job oriented fields. He also called for promoting the moral ethics among the students enabling them to serve the society with the rich Indian ethos which is unique identification of our country.
He said the time has come to review the present education system that needs some changes as per the present scenario. He said presently the education is becoming commercialized and main focus of teachers and parents is on improving the academic activities only and students lack in the overall development, especially in moral education which does not auger well for the younger generation.
The Minister also released annual magazine of the school on the occasion. He also distributed prizes amongst the teachers and students who excelled in academic and co-curricular activities.
Vice Principal of School, Rama Jamwal presented annual report of the school.
Principal, Satvinder Saini presented vote of thanks.
Among others present were IGP Railways, Dr Kamal Saini, Youth Congress leader, Satish Sharma, Joint Director Information, Samita Sethi, large number of parents and students.
