Shastri seeks CM’s intervention to speed up regularization process

JAMMU, Aug 20: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene personally and direct the committee under chairmanship of Chief Secretary looking after the regularization policy of sixty one thousand daily rated workers in various departments of the State Government to speed up the process on priority basis.

“In a bid to accelerate the process of regularization of these daily rated workers, the State Government started bio-metric registration of Causal Laborers in various departments, which is a welcomed step, but the some departments have not covered their workers under the said process till today causing unrest and sense of discrimination amongst poor working class,” Shastri said while addressing a largely attended NMC workers meet here.
Shastri however observed that Chief Secretary and chairman of the committee B B Vyas and his team is sincerely handling the issue which is pending for last over two decades during which working class was only given the assurances by the previous regimes but nothing on the ground practically.
Shastri also urged the State Government that time limit set up by the committee for bio-metric enrollment should be further extended and non covered departments should also be brought under purview of bio-metric enrolment process.
Shastri also demanded interim relief @ 20% in favor of State Government employees and pensioners till the 7th Pay Commission recommendations are implemented in J&K State along with increase of Medical allowance to rupees one thousand per month on the pattern of the pensioners of the Central Services, release of 7 percent DA due from July last to State Govt employees and pensioners, increasing the wage rate to Rs 350/-,apart from creating separate wage head for regular disbursement of wages on monthly basis and issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily rated workers working in the Rural Development Department of Jammu region.
