JAMMU, Apr 27: The ‘Shaurya Smarak’ of three fallen officers of the armed forces – Major Arvind Bazala, Major Rohit Kumar and Flight Lieutenant Advitiya Bal – were unveiled at the Sainik School Nagrota here today, a defence spokesman said.
Major General Shailendra Singh, Chief of Staff, Headquarters 16 Corps, and Chairman, Local Board of Administration, Sainik School Nagrota, presided over the ceremony, paying tribute to the valiant sacrifices of Late Major Arvind Bazala, Major Rohit Kumar, and Flt Lt Advitiya Bal, who laid down their lives in service to the nation.
The solemn event witnessed the august presence of the parents of the brave hearts Thoru Ram Bhagat & Santosh Kumari Bhagat (Parents of Major Arvind Bazala) and Sub Major Swaran Kumar Bal (Retd) & Parveen Kumari Bal (Parents of Flt Lt Advitiya Bal, as Guests of Honour, underscoring the enduring legacy of their courage and sacrifice.

In addition to the unveiling of Shaurya Smarak, the day marked the commencement of several vital projects aimed at enhancing the infrastructure of Sainik School Nagrota. These initiatives include the Ground Breaking for the improvement of internal roads, the Foundation Stone laying for the Girls Hostel, and the Unveiling of Murals depicting the glorious battles fought by the Indian Armed Forces.
