KATRA, May 31: Shikha Sharma student of 10th Class was adjudged best speaker in the symposium organized at Government Girls High School, on the occasion of “World No Tobacco Day ” here today.
Chief Education Officer, Reasi, K.K. Gupta was the chief guest while Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Reasi, K.C. Dogra and District Education Planning Officer, Kuldeep Gupta were guest of honour on the occasion.
In all 11 students were participated in the symposium in which Rubina of 9th class secured 2nd position while 3rd position shared jointly by Shilpa Bharti of 8th class and Shibnam of 10th class respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest threw light on the topic and highlighted the hazards smoking and advised the students to remain away from this killing menace besides he also urged the students to make wide awareness in society.
The headmaster of the host institution, Harish Dubey requested the Officers of the Health Department present on the occasion to depute a team for general medical check up of the students.
Meanwhile, the meritorious students who excel in the 8th standard were also encouraged by giving them mementoes.
Among others, Principal HSS, Katra, Tripta Devi, Headmaster GHS,Nomain, Madan Lal and Staff of the school attend the function.
