Shiksha Niketan celebrates Foundation Day

JAMMU, Feb 20: To commemorate the glorious service in the field of education, Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar Jammu celebrated its Foundation Cum Sports Day and Prize Distribution ceremony, here today.
Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, I D Soni, Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides was the guest of honour, while Tirath Ram Ji, District Sports Officer was the special guest.
Swami Hridaynand Giri was also present on the occasion.
The whole programme  was presided over by  Tarsem Lal, CEO Jammu.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rita Mengi, Trustee of RM College of Education, Priyanka, Senior Lecturer of RM College, Ravinder Kour, Principal of RM Public School and Kiran Gupta, Incharge of Shiksha Niketan, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
On the occasion. Principal of the School, Rameshwar Mengi along with the Incharge of  the schools received all the guests with honour and welcomed them by presenting Plants.
The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by an Oath ceremony by a gold medalist, Lovish Chowdhary.
A Holy Shiv Vandana was presented by the toddlers of Pre- Primary wing, which enthralled the audience present there.
The school students presented a variety of cultural items which included Punjabi Folk dance, Dogri Dance performance which were greatly appreciated by the large gathering of the dignitaries present  there.
Earlier, the welcome address was presented by Principal of the School, Rameshwar Mengi.
The sports activities included Sack Race, Blind Make Up, Ice Cube hold, Basket ball competition, Skipping, Tug of war, Balloon bursting were performed by the participants of different houses.
The National level winners and the distinction holders were awarded by the chief guest, Navin Agarwal, 1st position holders were awarded by Tarsem Lal, while the 2nd and the 3rd position  holders were awarded by  ID Soni, Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides.
