JAMMU, Jan 30: Shiksha Niketan High School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated its 52nd Foundation Day with exhilaration and fervour at Pushp Vatika, Jeevan Nagar, here.
Dr Parshant Bakshi, Associate Professor in SKAUST University, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Ajay Salan, Station Master, Katra presided over the function.
Mayank Mahajan, KAS Officer, Social Welfare Department, Jammu was the guest of honour.
All the guests were given rousing reception on their arrival and were presented Saplings by Rameshwar Mengi, Principal of the School.
The function commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rita Mengi, Trustee of RMPS, Ravinder Kour, Principal RMPS, Nirmal Sharma, Incharge Jeevan Nagar, Kiran Gupta, Incharge Gandhi Nagar and Sudesh Rana.
Students presented Ganesh Vandana, which was supervised by Rama Abrol.
The chief guest in his address lauded the performance of the students and also the School for meeting high Scholastic and Co- Scholastic arenas.
The other dignitaries were also all praise for the School Management.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Principal highlighted the achievements of the school in various fields.
The buds of Pre- Primary wing performed an enthralling cultural programme (Naya Bharat Naya Agaz) under the guidance of Rajani Gupta and Sonia Jamwal.
On the occasion, a Modeling Competition was held in which 10th class students participated and 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders were presented trophies.
A Dance competition was organized for the Mothers of the students and the 1st , 2nd and 3rd position holders were presented gifts by the dignitaries.
A total sum of Rs 58,000 was awarded in the form of cheques to the meritorious students who had distinguished in academics.
20 Cheques of Rs 1000, 13 Cheques of Rs 2,000 and 5 Cheques of Rs 5,000 each were given to the students who secured scholastic excellence from 1st to 10th Classes of School and Board Exams.
