Shimani bags Gold in National Shooting C’ship

JAMMU, Sept 29: Two students of Army Public School Damana namely Shimani Choudhary (XII D) and Anirudh Sharma (X-C) proved their audacity by bagged positions in 24th All India Kumar Surendra Singh Inter-School Shooting Championship.
The competition was held at Asansol Rifle Club Chandmari Asansol West Bengal from September 18 to 24 under National Rifle Association of India. The competition witnessed participation of 1000 shooters from various States of the country, which was divided into four categories including 10mtrs Air Rifle (NR), 10mtrs Air Rifle (ISSF), 10mtrs Air Pistol (NR) and 10mtrs Air Pistol (ISSF).
Shimani Choudhary clinched 1st position in Peep Sight 10mtrs Air Rifle (NR) Junior in women category, while Anirudh Sharma secured Silver in Peep Sight Air Rifle (NR) Sub Youth men category.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shimani Choudhary is the registered shooter of Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association and the first female shooter to clinch Gold for the UT.
Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Damana congratulated both the students for their outstanding performance in the national championship.
