JAMMU, Dec 26: Shishu Mandir High School, Rani Talab, Digiana, celebrated its Annual Day at Teacher’s Bhawan Auditorium amidst great zest, vibrancy and zeal.
The theme “Azadi ka Amritkal” was immaculately woven into a kaleidoscopic drapery with the threads of diligence, determination of the students and staff culminating into a grand spectacle.
The chief guest on the occasion was Suraj Singh Rathore (Chief Education Officer Jammu) while Davinder Singh Manhas (DEPO) and Geetu Bangotra (Principal GHSS Shastri Nagar, ZEO Gandhi Nagar) was the guest of honor. Avtar Singh Khalsa and Kamal Gupta were special guests on the occasion.
The programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest accompanied by the guest of honors, Principal and other eminent dignitaries. Thereafter, Principal Tajinder Singh shared the School’s achievements through the Annual Report of the past session.
The series of cultural fiesta from post independence to present day enriched with the effervescence from agricultural to feet tapping dances, mellifluous renditions, side splitting play, era of movies, mime act, dribbling moves of Yoga Asanas, Bhangra, Giddha, Dogri Dance, Kashmiri Song, etc were a delightful feast to the audiences. The whole event was directed by Ravinder Sharma (prominent Theatre Director of the State) and choreographed by Rohit Bains.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest complimented the efforts of the staff and the students for putting up such a stupendous show. The vote of thanks was rendered by Principal Tajinder Singh. The programme concluded with the vibrant presentation of Bangra. The sparkling event culminated amidst the encomiums and encores of the audiences.
