JAMMU, Feb 9: The members of Jammu Athletes Club were honoured by by Shiv Mandir Charitable Trust in a function, organised today at Shiv Market Railway Station, here today.
Prabhat Singh (Retired IPS) and a prominent Marathon Runner of the State introduced the core group members of Jammu Athletes club and the office bearers of the Trust.
President Shiv Mandir Trust, Shiv Pratap Gupta along with other office bearers lauded the achievements of Jammu Athletes Club.
Jammu Athletes Club has done Jammu proud by organising Jammu Half Marathon 1st Edition on November 11, 2018.
This event was ranked 10th All India in recently published MRR Rankings.
During the function, a trophy was presented to the core group of Jammu Athletes Club, besides individual trophies were also presented to all the Marathon runners of Jammu Athletes Club and to the people who worked behind Jammu Half Marathon event.
The highlight of the event was that the Trust honoured the achievement of three women of Jammu who brought laurels to Jammu by participating in various Marathons across India namely Kanupriya Garg 42.2 km TMM, Ravleen Kour 42.2 km TMM and Indu Jamwal gold medallist 10 Km ADHM Delhi.
The President appreciated the contribution of Prabhat Singh in success of Jammu Half Marathon.
He further said that similar functions will be held in future to promote sports culture.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajinder Parshad, YR Gupta, KK Pangotra, Vishwa Mittra, BB Vaid, Krishanan Kutty and Prabhat Singh.
