JAMMU, Feb 5: The J&K unit of Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray today protested strongly against the skyrocketing prices of gas, petrol and diesel, and demanded closure of Government loot on petrol and diesel.
Dozens of party leaders led by party’s J&K president Manish Sahni protested in a unique manner by singing a rampage and demanding bringing of petrol and diesel under GST. They said the result of the heavy taxes levied by the Government is that people have to buy petrol and diesel at three times more price than crude oil.
Sahni said that those claiming the bullet train are forcing the public to walk on the bullock cart today. “The price of crude oil being only Rs 29, the public has to pay Rs 90-96 per litre for petrol and diesel, and the gas prices have almost doubled during Modi’s term,” he added.
