Shiv Sena protests against power cuts

JAMMU, May 21: Activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena J&K here today under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta staged a protest demonstration against power cuts.
The protesters were carrying portable fans in their hands to show that they were of no use without electricity.
Addressing the protesters Gupta said, though the Governor had directed the concerned authorities that there should be no power cuts in the metered areas yet there were power cuts in New Plot, Rehari, Sabzi Mandi, Raghunath Bazar and some more areas last night.
He also said that Jammu region is without power supply in this hot weather and power cuts along with fluctuation and low voltage have made the lives miserable.
Gupta further said that power cuts also affect water supply and most of the households suffer due to this.
Shiv Sena leader informed that rural areas of Jammu too suffer due to prolonged power cuts.
Sarpanch Lal Singh, Krishan, Gurdas, Guddu, Bantu, Kalu, Prem Kumar, Shekhar, Sanjeev and others were also present in the protest demonstration.
