Reasi, June 9: Defeating Surinder Gupta in an easy contest, Shivam Gupta won the open singles title in the Badminton tournament played at Jyotipuram in Reasi.
Indu Kanwal Chib, District Development Commissioner Reasi was the chief guest on the occasion while Surinder Sharma, District President Badminton Association and Sumit Abrol, Vice President Badminton Association were present on the occasion.
In open singles, Shivam Gupta beat Surrinder by 21-9, 21-15, while in open doubles, Shivam and Sunit defeated Anil and Abhinav by 21-18 and 21-9.
In veteran singles, Brijesh drubbed Surinder by 21-12 and 21-16, while in veteran doubles, Vinod and Sunit trounced Surinder and Brijesh by 21-12 and 21-17.
In open singles, Surrinder bagged silver and Brijesh claimed bronze, while in open doubles, the duo of Anil and Abhinav clinched silver and the pair of Sumit Gandotra and Vinod won bronze.
In veteran singles, Surinder won silver and Parvesh Thakur claimed bronze, while in veteran doubles, Surinder and Brijesh claimed silver, while Rishikesh and Parvesh won bronze.
The winners were honoured by DDC Reasi on the occasion.
