JAMMU, Feb 14: Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Bishnah was injured in attack by bovines’ smugglers and has been hospitalised.
As per police sources, on specific information about cattle smuggling, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Tahir Yousuf rushed to Lalyana area.
The police team was attacked by bovines’ smugglers, in which SHO received head injuries.
SHO was shifted to SDH Bishnah and later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and hunt has been launched to nab the cattle smugglers, who managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness.
When contacted, SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan confirmed the attack on SHO Bishnah by bovines’ smugglers. He informed that SHO has been hospitalised.
“We have launched a manhunt to nab the attackers”, he added.
