Shodh Sansthan asks Govt to renovate damaged Hindu shrines

JAMMU, June 13: A meeting of Pt Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan was held here, today under the chairmanship of Jyotshi Omkar Nath Shastri its chairman in which the condition of Hindu religious places in Valley was discussed and Government was urged to make elaborate arrangements for the upcoming holy Amarnath yatra besides ensuring fool proof security to pilgrims.
The meeting expressed concern that the temples and other shrines which were over the years damaged or razed to ground by miscreants and anti social elements have not been renovated by the Government nor any compensation was sanctioned for the same despite the Government was duty bound to get all the damaged temple and shrines renovated or sanction compensation in favour of respective temple and shrine committees which were managing them.
Shastri Ji while addressing the meeting said that the Hindu religious places in Kashmir are great monuments whose mention can be found in ancient religious books and their preservation for posterity and country is must as they represent the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir.
He said as the Sansthan is performing religious yatras and functions in Kashmir every year while referring to last year’s Maha Kumb Yatra to Shadipora in Ganderbal tehsil announced this year also Maha Chandi Yagya will be solemnized by the Sansthan at Kheer Bhawani Tulmulla on the occasion of Ashard Ashtami falling on July 2 as per already announced programme. He said the advance party will leave for Kheer Bhawani from here on June 28 and Hawan will start on July 1 and conclude with Puranahuti next day.
He said the Maha Yagya will be performed under the supervision of renowned scholars and it will be followed by Samohik prayer for restoration of peace in trouble-torn Valley and prosperity of mankind as a whole.
