Shopian students return from National Integration tour

JAMMU, Dec 15: As a part of the Army’s initiative to integrate the people of remote and underdeveloped areas of Kashmir into the national mainstream, the Army organized a National Integration tour to Chandigarh-Shimla-Jammu for a group of school children accompanied by two teachers of Shopian district, which concluded today.
The team visited various educational and industrial institutions in three cities.
The tour was flagged in after its successful completion on today by Col RS Bazad, SM, 44 Rashtriya Rifles.
A grand function was organized at Army Goodwill School Balapur in which parents of the participating children and Principal were present.
Col RS Bazad while addressing the students reiterated the importance of education and awareness to bring prosperity and development in State.
He emphasized the students on setting high goals for themselves and become a part of the overall development of India.
The highlights of the tour were a meet with the GOC of Satwari Division, visit at Infosys technology center Chandigarh and HPAC fruit processing unit at Shimla.
