MENDHAR, June 27: Shopkeepers of Mendhar town under the banner of Beopar Mandal held protest demonstration against the local administration as during rain last night, the water entered into many shops due to blockade of drains and garbage scattered all around.
The traders came out on the road in the morning and started protest. They raised slogans against SDM, R&B and RDD authorities. They pointed out that garbage heaps are not lifted in the town and it goes into the drains during rain. The drains are also not made proper and R&B and local Administration is hardly bothered over the issue. Many times SDM and Tehsildar were apprised of the issue but all the sleeping. They also blocked the road and downed their shutters in protest.
Later the SDM Shafiq Ahmed, Tehsildar, BDO and SDPO Amit Bhasin reached the spot. They assured the agitating traders to look into the matter. The SDM summoned concerned officials and issued on the spot instructions to remove garbage and clear drains. He also had round of the town. Later, the traders lifted dharna.
