JAMMU, Nov 24: Commonwealth Games medallist, Shreya Gupta has been conferred with Sher-i-Kashmir Sports Award by J&K UT Government for her excellence performance in discipline of Fencing for the year 2017-18.
The prestigious award with cash prize Rs 50,000 was given to her by Managers of J&K Sports Council, SP Singh and Satish Gupta in a simple function, held at MA Stadium, here.
Shreya was conferred this award in month of January 2019. She had also awarded with Sardar Rangil Singh Award by J&K Olympic Association in the year of 2017-18.
Shreya has been national champion for six times in different categories and also current national champion in junior and cadet categories. She got best player trophy in National Fencing Championship at Gwalior and also won three National Cadet Gold.
She got these achievements and successes under regular trainee of coaches including Shotu Lal Sharma, Rashid Ahmed Choudhary, Ujwal Gupta and Rachna Jamwal.
