Speaking about her goals, she stated, “Like any athlete, I too aspire to represent my country in the Olympics but right now, two significant events are coming up: the Asian Championship and the Junior World Championship in a few months, for which I am working very hard at an academy in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.”
“I am pleased with the way the Government of India and UT Administration of Jammu and Kashmir are promoting sports, particularly to uplift girls,” she stated. I recently received Rs 1 Lakh from the UT administration under the New Sports Policy and now received a cash prize of Rs 1 Lakh for winning two gold medals in the event. I think this is a great way to support young sportspersons,” she added further.
“I am overjoyed with her performance and wish one day she could cherish her dream and passion of playing in the Olympics,” said her father, Sanjay Gupta.
Meanwhile, Secretary, J&K Sports council, Nuzhut Gull complimented Shreya Gupta for winning another Gold medal for JK-UT and hoped her performances at National and international levels shall motivate other sportspersons.
