KATHUA, Dec 5: Shri Ram Club Monka Talab trounced JKP Kathua Club by 3-1 sets and lifted Range Police Volleyball Friendship Cup (2nd phase) at Sports Stadium, here today.
In the summit clash, Shri Ram Club Monka Talab outclassed JKP Kathua Club by 3-1 sets in the 5 sets game.
Mohan Lal, SSP was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Additional SP Yogesh Sharma was the guest of honour.
The chief guest and the other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winner and runner-up teams.
In his address, SSP advised all the youths to take part in the sports activities to keep their body mentally and physically fit.
Among others present were retd SP Sardar Khan, DySP Daljeet Singh, Rattan Bharti and Jeet Singh.
Earlier the welcome address was presented by Rajesh Gill, Assistant Principal PTS Kathua, while the proceedings were conducted by Mohammad Sadeeq and vote of thanks was presented by DySP Showkat Dar.
The tournament was organized by Range Police Headquarters Jammu under the Civic Action Programme of Police Headquarters, in which eight teams of the Kathua and adjoining areas including the teams of Police and CRPF had participated.
The matches were officiated by Chuni Lal, Uttam Singh, Ashok Kumar, Ganesh Dutt, Parveen Singh, Dharampal and Balbir Singh.
The tournament was organized under the supervision of DIG Jammu-Kathua Range, whereas SSP Mohan Lal, Additional SP Yogesh Sharma, DySP Shokat Dar and DySP Ruhail Mircha are the members of the organizing committee. Rajesh Gill, Assistant Principal, PTS Kathua is the Coordinator of the event.
Later, Rajesh Gill informed that the third phase of the Range Police Volleyball Friendship Cup will be organized at Samba on December 7 and 8.
The interested teams from Samba and adjoining areas are invited to register their names for participation in the tournament at Police Station Samba, only first 8 teams will be registered for the Tournament.
