SAMBA, Oct 19: The Shri Ram Universal School, Jammu, in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education and Erudite Youth Community organized the Jammu and Kashmir Yuva Sansad. This two-day event aimed to engage over 100 students from various Government and Private schools across Samba in the democratic process and foster leadership skills.
Participants actively engaged in three committees: All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), Citizen Dialogue, and Bhartiya Press. In the AIPPM, lively debates were held on national issues such as education reforms and unemployment, while the Citizen Dialogue addressed local concerns like environmental sustainability. The Bhartiya Press committee assumed the role of journalists, covering debates and producing reports.
Shivani Vaid led the proceedings as Conference President, supported by the organizing team, including Manpreet Kour, Purnima Gupta, and Radhika Sharma. The closing ceremony featured Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Samba, as chief guest, who praised the students’ active participation.
Principal Sonika Mahajan expressed gratitude to guests and emphasized the event’s significance in shaping future leaders. The event successfully showcased the importance of youth engagement in democracy.
