KATRA, Apr 3: An employee of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has been caught red handed while stealing donation money during counting of the same.
The accused employee was identified as Ram Lal of village Childi, Udhampur, who was engaged for counting of currency notes, collected from different donation boxes. He was caught by CRPF official when he was leaving the Counting Room along with stolen amount of Rs 14010. The stolen currency notes were stashed under bandage tied by accused around his thighs.
Later, CRPF handed over the accused employee to Bhawan Police where an FIR No. 1/17 U/S 380 RPC was registered. Police arrested the accused and started further investigation.
