Sir,
The shrine board of Pingla Devi and Chauntra Mata is the long pending demand of the devotees who visit every year to pay obeisance in these temples. The pilgrimage to these temples locatd at Pinger and Chauntra Dhar in Ramnagar was started in the year 1987 and with the passage of time pilgrims from all shades pay obeisance and now more than one lakh devotees visit each temple every year. These devotees have to encounter many difficulties while visiting them due to bad condition of roads. Currently, the temples are under the control of local priests while local administration and Akhand Jyoti Committee Ramnagar is responsible for the smooth conduct of yatra in the month of Navratras. The road upgradation, rain shelters, toilet blocks, plantation, drinking water and retaining walls at steep points are some of the immediate measures required for pilgrims. Thus, the creation of the shrine board that will pay round the year focussed attention towards the developmental process of these temples with the involvement of the locals is the immediate cry of the devotees. During last session, a bill for the creation of the board at the analogy of Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was presented by the Ramnagar MLA. Later on, the Rural Development Minister informed the house that 64 kanals and 56 kanals of forest land is needed for Pingla Mata and Chauntra Mata Shrine Board and for which clearance from Forest Department is required. The Government should seek clearance from Forest Department for this purpose. Now, the coming session being the last session of the present Govt, it is thus kindly impressed upon the Govt to pass the bill and constitute the Shrine Board.
