Sia celebrates five years of sobriety with inspiring message

LOS ANGELES, Sept 13:  Australian singer-songwriter Sia has celebrated five years of sobriety with an inspiring message on Twitter.
The 39-year-old “Elastic Heart” singer, who has battled drug and alcohol addiction in the past, took to the micro-blogging site and encouraged fans struggling to stay on the straight and narrow to “keep at it”, reported Entertainment Tonight.
“5 years sober today. If you’re newly sober, keep at it, it gets so so awesome. YOU CAN DO IT.”
The pop-star had earlier said that her life began spiralling out of control in 2005 due to her drinking problems.
“I was extremely depressed at the time, that was one of my lowest points. I don’t think I ever would have stopped drinking had I not got hooked on Xanax and OxyContin.
“I don’t think I was taking them for more than maybe 10 months before I hit rock bottom.” (PTI)
