JAMMU, Apr 1: Sidhant Cricket Academy (SCA) Jammu trounced JRA Jallandhar by 4 wickets in the 3-Match Under-13 Boys Cricket Series for Itech Emperor’s Cup, which got underway at MA Stadium, here today.
The Series was inaugurated in a simple function by Haji Abdul Qayoom, Chief Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council in presence of Manav Gupta, Director Itech Group; Varinder Sharma, incharge Sports Authority of India (STC) Jammu; Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, Jammu; Ashok Singh, Manager MA Stadium, Jammu; Baljinder Pal Singh, Athletic Coach; Kalyani Dewedi, Wushu Coach; Vikrant Taggar, Former Ranji Trophy Player and Managing Director Itech Group and Jackson, Coach JRA Jallandhar, Punjab.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, JRA Jallandhar scored a modest total of 137 runs in 29.4 overs. Manit top scored with 32 runs, while Aryan and Ronak contributed 19 and 16 runs to the total respectively. For Sidhant Cricket Academy, Jatinder Pal Singh and Bismaad bagged 3 wickets each by conceding 17 and 8 runs in their 5 and 4 overs respectively.
In reply, Sidhant Cricket Academy chased the target in 23.2 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Jatinder Pal emerged top scorer with unbeaten 45 runs, while Devesh Puri contributed unbeaten 26 runs and Chitwan chipped in with 15 runs. For JRA Jallandhar, Aryan was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets by conceding 14 runs in his 4 overs, while Gopi and Sourav claimed 1 wicket each. Jatinder Pal Singh was adjudged as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Ashok Singh as umpires and Shiv Kumar as scorer, while the Series is being organized by Incharge SAI Sports Training Centre, Jammu, Varinder Sharma.
