JAMMU, Feb 11: Son of the soil-Sidhant Randhawa has brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir by qualifying for the National Equestrian Championship-2024.
The National Equestrian Championship, a prestigious event in the world of horse riding, showcases the talent and skills of riders and their equine partners from across the country. This championship serves as a platform for equestrian enthusiasts to compete in various disciplines such as show jumping, dressage, eventing, and endurance riding.
Sidhant Randhawa has been rigorously training himself and his horse since eight years and is enthusiastic to bring the national championship home. The championship not only highlights the athleticism and coordination of both horse and rider but also underscores the importance of discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship.
Sidhant Randhawa has the distinction to participate and won the International Equestrian Championship held last year at Nawalgarh in Rajasthan which he participated as a rider from Haryana. Presently, he is participating in the Championship representing Sagar Equestrian Sports Academy, Rajasthan and has qualified for 60 kilometres ride and the event will take place next month in Jaipur itself.
There were around 106 participants in the qualifying game which included riders and horses of 61 Cavalry of Indian Army, Riders and Horses of Chandigarh Police, Riders and Horses of Rajasthan Police and riders from different Clubs across India. Lt. Col Bharat Singh, Abdul Aziz, Nirav Patel, Gourav Joshi were the committee members.
Riders with their horses who qualified 40 km were congratulated and will further compete in National Equestrian Championship 60 km, to be held on 2nd & 3rd March 2024 at Jaipur. Kamal Randhawa, father of Sidhant said that he was inclined towards horses since his childhood and slowly it became his passion to which he is now pursuing with full dedication.
