JAMMU, Oct 23: Sidharth Sharma, chairman Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) declared open the 25th Junior and Senior State Snooker and Billiards Championship, 3rd Sub Junior and 2nd Six Red Ball Championship at Billiards Hall, M A Stadium, here today.
Mr Sharma, who was the chief guest on the occasion, was accompanied by President JKBSA, Senior Vice President Jaideep Manocha, vice president Nikhil Kapahi,  general secretary Vishal Abrol,  treasurer Sohail Khalid and Manager Indoor Complex, Satish Gupta.
Organising secretary, Ishuk Choudhary in a statement issued here said that the tournament will begin with sub junior category, which will be followed by junior and senior categories, adding that sub junior nationals will be held from December 1 to December 12, 2017 in Bangalore and six red ball nationals will be held at Chennai from December 16 to December 24, 2017, to be followed by senior nationals, the venue of which is yet to be declared by BSFI.
He said the matches will be played as per rules of BSFI, adding that Rakesh and Ashok will be the official markers, while Umar Himayun will be the chief referee of the tournament.
The tournament is being organised by JKBSA, under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council.
