SIE organizes painting competition

JAMMU, May 17: The Social Science wing of the State Institute of Education Jammu today organized Divisional Level Painting Competition in which students from various districts of Jammu division participated.
The theme depicted through the paintings included Environment Pollution, Natural Disasters, historical monuments and water conservation.
The competition was inaugurated by Joint Director/ Principal SIE Jammu, H. R. Pakhroo who stressed on importance of holding such programmes for bringing out the creative talent and the latest potential of the students.
Sarita Anand, F. A. Social Science Wing welcomed the participants.
Tarun Sharma a student of class 10th of Government Higher Secondary School Boys Kishtwar bagged first prize while Karina Bhatti a student of class 11th of Government HSS Ramgarh got the second prize and the third prize went to Rakesh Devi, a student of class IX of Government High School Udhampur.
The rest of the participants were awarded certificates of participation while consolation prizes were awarded to Ankush Kotwal and Ahlina.
Bishmber Mehta from Institute of Fine Arts, Jammu, Rakesh Sharma from the same institute and Mohd Akram Khan, Master DIET Reasi acted as the judges for the event.
