JAMMU, Apr 9: Various Sikh organizations under Panthic Morcha, have condemned the defacement of a religious place in Ladakh.
In a joint press conference here today, leaders of these organizations- Jathedar Mohinder Singh, Avtar Singh Khalsa, Manmohan Singh, Suchwant Singh, Balwant Singh, Rajinder Singh and others, expressed serious concern over the incident and demanded probe into the matter.
They pointed out that this shrine is being looked after by the Defence authorities and the acts of some people on the outer walls of the religious place, have created strong resentment among the members of Sikh community.
The Sikh leaders said that this shrine has been connected with the travel of Guru Nanak Dev ji to Ladakh and Tibet. Some people by replacing existing Shalokas of Gurvani with other symbols/ Shalokas, have tried to create wedge between two communities. They should desist from doing so. It will create controversy and disturb law and order, they maintained.
Panthic Morcha demanded that management of this religious shrine be handed over to the Management of Gurdwaras as enshrined in the Act. They sought intervention of State Governor and the DGP into the matter.
