Sikh bodies for repair of Ramnagar Gurdwara

JAMMU, Oct 17:  Several Sikh bodies of Jammu region have demanded repair of  a Gurdawara in Ramnagar area of district Udhampur.
In a memorandum submitted  Jathedar of  Shri Akal Takhat Sahib (Asr) Giani Gurbachan Singh jointly on his visit here,  Sukhbir Singh from Nirvair Social Organisation, Rajinder Singh from J&K Sikh Progressive Front and Sukhdev Singh from Panthak Morcha urged upon the top Sikh religious head from Amritsar to provide       financial assistance for the repair and reconstruction of  damaged Gurdwara in Ramnagar.
They stressed that that this historic Gurdwara, Charan Kamal Astha Guru Nanak Ser Majila, in tehsil Ramnagar which was damaged by some miscreants in 1984 should be reconstructed. They pointed out that various Sikh bodies approached the State administration several times but the re-construction work has not been initiated so far. They requested the religious head to use his influence to get the Gurdwara repaired for the larger interest of  the community.
