SRINAGAR, Apr 5: A protest demonstration was held here today by members of United Sikh Forum demanding ban on ‘NANAK SHAH FAKIR’ movie as they allege it violates the basics of Sikh faith.
A spokesman of the Forum said that the movie ‘NANAK SHAH FAKIR’ is a gross violation of Gurmat (Sikh ideology) as no human is allowed to play the role of GURU SAHIBAN’S and great Sikh historical figures in any form.
The spokesman said Harinder Singh Sikka is just a face and it seems anti Sikh lobby is encouraging him to set wrong trend which can give them a chance and opportunities in future to distort our great heritage by taking liberty of creativity .
“Some elements are always there to disturb the harmony among the different faiths. Sikh religion is strictly monotheistic and believes in one Wae-Guru, which is shape less and omnipresent and such movie is equivalent to idolatry,” he said, adding, “we demand ban on such movies and Censor Board should not give censorship to any such movie which hurts the sentiments of any religion.”
