JAMMU, Nov 3: GDC Marh student Simran Koul bagged first position in Inter-college Model United Nations competition, held at Govt Degree College, Akhnoor, near here.
The theme of the competition was “United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change -Conference of Parties 28” (UNFCC-COP28 Abu Dhabi). Twelve Colleges of the district participated in the competition. Each college was given a different topic of presentation, four students from each college participated in which two students represented one country.
The topic of presentation for GDC Marh was “Waste Management: A Serious Challenge” and represented Ireland and Brazil. Four students of the College namely Simran Koul, Muskan Chib, Prerna Balgotra and Sonali Chib participated in the competition, wherein Simran Koul surpassed all those senior fellow mates.
Principal, Prof Rakesh Kumar Koul congratulated Simran Koul and the team along with concerned faculty members Prof. Anjana Chib (EVS) and Prof. Sachin Bhagat (Pol. Sc.) for bringing laurels to the College.
