JAMMU, Dec 14: Simula Cricket Club defeated Arsh Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 5 runs to seal berth in the finals of the ongoing 5th Christmas T20 Cricket Cup, being jointly organized by Christian Sports Organization Jammu and Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu and supported by Diocese of J&K.
The slogan of the tournament is “Be Healthy- Don’t Do Drugs”.
Rajesh Gill, Chief prosecuting Officer and Former Ranji Player is the Organizing Secretary of the event.
Earlier, batting first, Simula Cricket club scored 159 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Atul Sharma top scored with 66 runs, while Shashi contributed 27 runs to the total. From Arsh Cricket Club, Vishwajeet took 3 wickets, while Soumay Jain and Deepak shared 2 wickets. Veenu also claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Arsh Cricket Club managed to score 154 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 5 runs. Ankush top scored with 54 runs, while Rohan Koul contributed 47 runs to the total. From Simula,Kuldeep took 2 wickets, while Akash, Satish, Hritik and Raman shared 1 wicket each. Atul was adjudged as the man of the match.
