KATHUA, Dec 30: Simula Club Jammu and Haryana Police crushed their rivals in their respective matches and entered into the next round of the ongoing 4th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket Tournament at sports stadium here.
In the first match, Simula Club Jammu registered 11 runs win over Harbhajan Cricket Academy Jaladhar.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Simula Club Jammu set a target of 157 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Puneet was the top scorer with 42 runs in just 14 balls.
In reply, Harbajan Cricket Academy Jalandhar failed to chase the target and bundled out at 146 runs for all out.
Puneet of Simula Club Jammu was declared as man of the match and was awarded with a cash reward of Rs 1,500 and Man of the Match trophy.
In the second match, Haryana Police trounced SMS Club Poonch by 7 wickets and registered berth in the next round of the tournament.
After winning the toss, SMS Club Poonch elected to bat first and scored 110 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Haryana Police chased the target in 15.3 overs for the loss of just 3 wickets during the process.
Tegi of Haryana Police was declared man of the match for scoring 31 runs and taking 1 wicket. He was awarded with a cash reward of Rs 1,500 and Man of the Match trophy.
