JAMMU, Sept 16: Getting the better of Patel Cricket Club by 5 wickets in the semifinals, star-studded Simula Cricket Club sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing KC Sports Club T20 Cricket Cup, being played at KC Public School ground, here.
This tournament is being played on newly laid turf on this picturesque ground.
Earlier, Patel Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, Patel CC scored a modest total of 108 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Gokul was the top scorer with 48 runs, while Pranav and Tayyab contributed 21 and 12 runs to the total respectively. From Simula Cricket Club, left-arm spinner Kuldeep Kumar took 2 wickets, while Sahil and Satish shared 1 wicket each.
While chasing the target, Simula CC chased the target in 15.1 overs for the loss of 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. From Simula CC, Puneet scored power-packed 51 runs, while Hardeep and Shashi contributed 22 and 11 runs respectively. From Patel Cricket Club, Pranav was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 important wickets, while Abhishek and Gourav claimed 1 wicket each. For his splendid batting display, Puneet was declared as man of the match.
