JAMMU, Jan 18: Simula Cricket Club defeated Whites Cricket Club (WCC) by 6 wickets in the ongoing KC Sports Club Cricket Tournament at KC School ground, here.
Whites Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first. The team bundled-out for 97 runs in 18 overs. Rahul and Lateef made 25 and 20 runs respectively. For Simula, Hilal Rather and Shabir Rather took 3 wickets each.
While chasing an easy target, Simula Cricket Club lost 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Puneet Kumar played a brilliant innings of 51 runs, while Shashi Kumar contributed 15 runs to the total. Asif and Rahul took 2 and 1 wicket respectively for WCC. Puneet Kumar of Simula Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his power-packed knock of 51 runs in just 18 balls including 6 sixes and 3 fours.
